Autumn and Winter Catalogue Blog Hop

Laura has arranged a fab blog hop for the Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who use In Love With Stamping forum. If you are following the hop you should have arrived here from Fiona's blog, if you didn't and you would like to play along then you need to start at the very beginning which is Laura's blog.

The new Autumn/Winter Catalogue is packed with lovely things but I think the most interest is generated by the Ornament bundle which has endless possibilities.

This is just one of the ornaments I made using the set although I made it in red and blue to display it at a craft fair but I did not want it to look Christmassy.

Thanks for stopping by. From here you need to go to Anne-Marie if you want to carry on the hop.

Well my Christmas Craft Classes are up and running, I decided to offer more than just cards so that we can make decorations and gift boxes as well. The new Autumn/ Winter Catalogue has so many wonderful stamps and dies in it that lend themselves to lots of 3D shapes so it would be a shame not to use them to their full potential. The snowflake decoration above is only one of many examples I have made and I would love to share the experience with you. So why not sign up and come along to my class. I cater for all ages and abilities and I am always willing to adapt my class to include any technique or item that an attendee would like to try.

Demonstrator Training Day

I went to my first training day put on by Stampin'Up! last Saturday. I don't know quite what I was expecting but I don't think I was expecting to laugh as much as I did.

The training was held in Lemington Spa and a group of us decided to travel up the day before and stay over night in a hotel. Well, the fun started on the trip up really; although I had not met all the girls before the trip we soon were chatting and laughing like old friends. We stopped in Coventry long enough to scoop up some bargain's in IKEA and then all met up again at the hotel.

We decided to eat in the hotel dinning room and the eight of us talking and giggling soon cleared the few other people there out! We had a lovely and very patient hostess who coped wonderfully with us nutcases and our individual changes to what was on the menu.

After we had eaten we all converged in one bedroom to craft. Again there was more talk and laughter and not as much crafting as we intended but we all enjoyed the evening. It was getting on for 1am before we arranged to meet at 8am for breakfast and all went to our separate beds.

The following morning the weather was glorious and the training venue was a beautiful conference centre. From the start the training was informative and yet still fun and not at all dry. We were all given a stamp set from the new Mini Catalogue and we used that set in Make and Takes in one of the afternoon sessions. All the speakers that day were interesting and I learnt new things from them all, at no time did my attention wane. Stampin' Up! really does support its Demonstrators and I was impressed with the amount of enthusiasm and encouragement I felt from everyone. I am now looking forward to the Convention which is being held in Mainz, Germany in November.

Welcome to my new home and my new adventure; so much has changed in my life recently, for the better I hope. So where do I begin, well we finally did what we had been saying we would do for the past 3 years and sold our house and moved to a smaller one. We really did not need a large 5 bedroom house for just the 2 of us and the utility bills alone were huge. Now we have a 200 year old 3 bedroom cottage in Norfolk complete with beams in the ceilings and an inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove. The only problem is that even though we sold some furniture and gave even more away before we moved we still have too much and some pieces are too big for the size of the rooms! So we are still unpacking boxes and deciding what to keep and what has to go and in the meantime we are making the best of the situation until we can get the house the way we want it.

I have also signed up as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, hence the new blog. I hope this will be a good thing for me and will help me in more ways than one. I have been using Stampin' Up! products for some time now and love the quality of them. The lady I bought from was the one who suggested that I start selling for myself but I resisted for a while and finally decided that the time was right for me a couple of weeks ago. I love helping people craft so I am really looking forward to getting started. So if any of you lovely people want to have a party, you know who to call....ME!
